Thoạt nhìn ai cũng ngỡ đó là bức tranh sơn dầu được vẽ theo phương pháp truyền thống nhưng hãy coi chừng nhân vật trong tranh có thể cử động, đi lại và mỉm cười, thậm chí bước ra khỏi bức tranh và ôm chầm lấy bạn.

Đó là biệt tài vẽ tranh của nữ họa sĩ Alexa Meade (34 tuổi) sinh ra và lớn lên ở thủ đô Washington (Mỹ).

Nhìn vào tác phẩm của Alexa, chắc chắn nhiều người sẽ cho rằng đây chỉ là một bức tranh vẽ bằng chất liệu sơn dầu đơn thuần, nhưng thực tế nhân vật cô gái trong đó hoàn toàn là… người thật.

Ít ai biết rằng, cô họa sỹ trẻ đầy tài năng, người khởi đầu cho một xu hướng hội họa mới này chưa bao giờ nghĩ đến việc sẽ bước chân vào lĩnh vực hội họa chuyên nghiệp. Nhưng cuộc sống không ai học được chữ ngờ!

Năm 2001, ông bà Phil và Mead Meade gửi cô con gái Alexa Meade 15 tuổi đến Capital Hill để thực hiện bước đệm cho việc trở thành một chính trị gia trong tương lai.

Sau đó, ông bà lại quyết tâm đầu tư cho con gái đến học ở trường Đại học Vassar, một trong những trường đại học đắt đỏ nhất hành tinh.

Vào thời điểm đó, ước mơ của Alexa là một ngày nào đó sẽ ra tranh cử nhưng tất cả đã thay đổi vào một ngày khi cô giải khuây với sơn trong tầng hầm của cha mẹ mình.

Sau khi cầm chắc tấm bằng đại học trong tay và một thư mời làm việc, Alexa nói với bố mẹ cô một điều họ bị sốc và không bao giờ quên. Alexa nói: “Bố ơi, con muốn trở thành một nghệ sĩ”.

Vào thời điểm đó, Alexa không có kinh nghiệm nghệ thuật.

Cô xuống tầng hầm của cha mẹ mình ở Chevy Chase, Maryland và vẽ mọi thứ ở đó để rồi tạo ra một phong trào nghệ thuật hoàn toàn mới. Thay vì vẽ trên vải cô bắt đầu vẽ lên mọi thứ khác.

Cô họa sỹ trẻ đầy tài năng, người khởi đầu cho một xu hướng hội họa mới này chưa bao giờ nghĩ đến việc sẽ bước chân vào lĩnh vực hội hoạ chuyên nghiệp.

“Con bé vẽ khắp các bức tường của tầng hầm. Con bé vẽ lên cả đồ ăn như quả trứng rán, quả bưởi rồi vẽ lên cả nội thất”, bà Mead Meade cho biết.

Alexa đã sáng tạo ra kỹ thuật vẽ tranh trực tiếp lên người mẫu (hoặc vật mẫu) rồi đặt người mẫu ngồi vào một không gian nền có màu sắc tương ứng.

Kỹ thuật này biến các vật thể 3 chiều nhìn bằng mắt thường trở thành vật thể 2 chiều nhìn trên mặt phẳng.

Vậy là thay vì vẽ tranh lên giấy, Alexa vẽ trực tiếp lên người mẫu và các mẫu vật của mình. Chất liệu mà cô sử dụng chủ yếu là sơn dầu.

Bức tranh đầu tiên mà Alexa vẽ mang tên Bernie, hoàn thành vào tháng 5/2009 và từ đó, phong cách mới này của Alexa đã gây được rất nhiều sự quan tâm của những người yêu nghệ thuật.

Alexa chia sẻ: “Tôi nghĩ lí do tôi không hứng thú với kiểu vẽ truyền thống là do khi tôi vẽ như vậy lúc còn nhỏ, tôi chẳng bao giờ thích điều đó cả.

Còn đối với việc vẽ lên vật thể 3D để trông như 2D, cô cho rằng: “Nó giải phóng một phần bộ não của tôi và tôi có thể tự do phóng tác nhiều hơn”.

Các tác phẩm của Alexa Meade từng được trưng bày tại phòng tranh Postmaster ở New York từ ngày 2/4/2010 đến 8/5/2010 và cô dự kiến sẽ tổ chức một buổi triển lãm khác tại London trong tương lai không xa.
